Tough Mudder hosts 100 events worldwide, namely in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and Germany with more than 1.3 million participants completing the course to date

Gallowglass Health and Safety were initially appointed the Safety Consultancy for 2014. From our first appointment, we have been responsible for familiarising and adapting to the Tough Mudder operating procedures and firmly establishing the growth of the Health and Safety culture within the company.

We have spent countless hours creating an adaptable and pragmatic approach to all of their H&S processes and assist with the growth of the company through new and exciting projects.

Pre-event, we are included in the collating of specific Safety Plans, attending SAG (Safety Advisory Group) meetings for all location venues, assessing and reviewing of all Contractor H&S documentation and communicating and co-ordinating information between the relevant Council, venue and the Tough Mudder Management.

We provide onsite H&S services during the build-up to every live event, carrying out the role of H&S Advisor. All contractors and staff onsite during the build week are inducted onto site prior to their work commencing as well as reviewing work processes in accordance with their H&S documentation.

Due to the nature of the event, the challenge is managing high risk obstacles to a controllable level. There are up to 30,000 people that participate in each event and about 10,000 watch the event which spans over a weekend
